The ABBOTT Genealogies

David Hayes, s. of Luther and Rachel (Brown) Abbott, was b. at Hillsboro', N. H., June 11, 1803; came to Hing. in 1823, and engaged with Giles Gardner in the manuf. of women's boots and shoes. After this copar. was dis. he con. the business in connection with the manuf. of clothing for dealers in Boston; also trader on Main near the corner of South St. He m. Oct. 16, 1827, Sally S. Hersey, dau. of Abner and Sally (Sweetser) Hersey. She was b. in Hing. Nov. 22, 1801, and d. 26 Nov. 1861, æt 60 yrs. Resides on South St.

       i. Abner Hersey, Oct. 16, 1828, d. 19 Oct. 1831
      ii. James, b. ----, 1830, d. æt 9 mos
     iii. Mary Jacobs, Dec. 29, 1832.  m. John A. Phipps, of Charlestown.  
      iv. Gustavus, May 27, 1834, is m. and resides in Chicago, Ill.
       v. Georgianna Elizabeth, June 5, 1837.
      vi. Adelaide Frances, June 24, 1839.
     vii. Caroline Rhoades, June 13, 1844.  m. Henry B. Nottage of Boston.
