This map is centered on our home and farm. There have been 11 earthquakes reported by the USGS so far in 2015 with an epicenter within approximately 30 miles (48 km) of our home. (There have been more reported, but earthquakes centered on known gravel pits and indicating the movement is centered at the surface have been discarded as gravel pit blasting.) The stongest earthquake in 2014 has been a 2.8 magnitude quakes that occurred January 29. The most earthquakes in one calendar day was 2. This occurred on January 10 and January 29.
The markers used to show epicenters are sized relative to the size of the earthquake.
The markers are:
If your mouse hovers over a pushpin the date and magnitude of the quake will be displayed.
Oldest earthquakes are displayed first, so newer quake pegs may cover older quakes.
Purple rings indicate 10 mile (16km) distance from the farm.
